Stan Glisson is running for Kitsap County District Court Department 3.


Stan Glisson graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a degree in Philosophy in 1994 and earned his JD from the University of Washington Law School in 1998.

Legal Experience

After graduating from law school, Stan moved to the Kitsap Peninsula where he worked for two years as a public defender and four years as a Kitsap County deputy prosecutor.


In 2004, Stan opened his first private practice doing criminal defense. Shortly after, he won the contract to be the city prosecutor in Gig Harbor, a position he still holds today.


Stan has been the lead or sole counsel in 100+ jury trials, 12+ appeals, and countless litigated motions and hearings. He is licensed to practice in Washington State, Western District of Washington (the federal court), and Suquamish Tribal Court. Stan has appeared as counsel in over 20 different courts in Western Washington.

Judge Pro Tem

He is a long standing member of the practice and procedure committees of Kitsap County District Court, Bremerton Municipal Court, and Gig Harbor Municipal Court, and has served as a judge pro tem in Kitsap County District Court, Bremerton Municipal Court, and Port Orchard Municipal Court since entering private practice.

Highest Ratings

Stan has received the highest rating, “exceptionally well qualified”, for the Kitsap County District Court bench from four judicial evaluation committees:

Stan has also received the highest rating, "highly qualified",  in the Kitsap County Bar Association poll and was ranked the first choice by a 2-1 margin.

Home in Kitsap

Stan and his wife Brenda live in Port Orchard. Their two children graduated from South Kitsap High School and are currently students at the University of Washington in Seattle. Stan enjoys spending his free time out on the water, hiking, and traveling.
